Nervecentre V9.0 Help for Users
PDS
Depending on your organisation, Nervecentre can access patient information from PDS Personal Demographic Service, an NHS system. PDS helps healthcare professionals to identify patients and match them to their health records. It also allows them to contact and communicate with patients. using FHIR Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (pronounced Fire). FHIR is a standard created by HL7 to help promote the interoperability throughout the wider health community. By designing a system in a FHIR compliant standard, information can be exchanged securely with other systems. or Care Motive. The articles in our Help cover accessing PDS using FHIR. What you see depends on your organisation and permissions.
When you register a patient, you create a local patient record in Nervecentre. Depending on your organisation, you can link a patient's local record to their patient record on PDS.
Nervecentre automatically checks PDS for new information at specific points. You can also manually check PDS for new information.
If there are differences between a patient's local record and their record on PDS, you can choose the information you want to keep, or decouple the patient's local record from PDS. Only decouple a patient's record when necessary.
